There's a hole in the belt dear Liza.

I looked down at my belt this morn and discovered this:

I instantly felt shock and disgust. How could my belt be worn through and broken? Things just aren't made to last! Cheap belt.



Okay, wait. Back up. I tried to remember how long I've had this particular belt and it's sister black belt. Uh, try 13 years, at least. I know I've had it as long as I've been married. Perhaps a little longer.


So I guess it wasn't such a poorly made belt after all. I mean, when you consider I've worn it or it's sister nearly everyday for 13 years minus the three times I was pregnant, I guess I've pretty much got my money's worth.



I'm all about getting your money's worth out of things. When I buy stuff, I calculate how many times I will need to wear it to equate to $1 per wearing and so forth. Some things, you definitely get more than you pay for.



I'm in full Spring cleaning mode at my house right now. I've cleaned out every drawer and cupboard. Pulled out the stove and refrigerator and cleaned behind. There are 5 drawers in the bedroom that haven't been edited and as you guessed, those are Geoff's.



Seems like more and more, there's just too much 'stuff'. I'm tired of arranging and organizing our 'stuff'. I'm tired of buying items to keep our 'stuff' organized. I'm on a quest to simplify. If we haven't used it or gone looking for it in the last 6-12 months. We don't need it!



I must admit, knowing Wilson is our last baby has helped. I kept a lot of baby 'stuff' that I am so thankful to have. Things like bath seats, toys, clothes, shoes, baby gates. All items that were barely used the first time around and we didn't get our money's worth. Well, after three kids, we got more than our money's worth out of them.



Now, after Wilson grows out of things, I am happy to pass them along to the next mom. I have been lucky to have so much storage space in my house. But now, it's time to edit, purge, clean it out!
