Alien Abduction - Part One

We have been working on Jackson's Alien Abduction costume since Sunday. It seemed so simple:


Step One: Cover a balloon with strips of newspaper and flour/sugar/water gluey mixture ala papier mache style.


Addendum to step one: Don't use a space heater to help speed the drying process. It is a simple science lesson. When air is heated, it expands. Even inside a balloon. Even inside a balloon covered in muckety muck, I mean, papier mache strips.


My downstairs family room looks like a bomb exploded, and we are only on step one. Correction: we are only on the repeat of step one. We had to start over, remember?


But thankfully, my treadmill is being used for something other than dust collection. The Lord knows I haven't been on it lately...
